The purpose of this web site is to provide information about the Naga Project for Libraries, a project for
libraries and publishers in the
United States
to help build a Reference Collection for the
Library of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

On Thursday, August 18, 2005, the Naga Project for Libraries reached its goal of providing 1000 books for the Reference Collection of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

In Buddhist mythology, nagas are benevolent creatures that live in a watery underworld. They are also believed to act as guardians of hidden Mahyna texts. A Naga Sheltering the Buddha is on the logo of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.
